The Student Chapter of ASID has had an incredible semester, packed with events and initiatives to foster professional growth, inspiration and camaraderie among our members. Here is just a small look into what we’ve been up to!

ASID  Alabama’s PIZZA WITH THE PROFESSIONALS was our most recent event in October. The state chapter sponsored a pizza party with professional interior designers serving as hosts. The hosts took the opportunity to lead discussions about the profession and provided advice. This event introduced our students to professionals in the State of Alabama, and conversations spanned careers, project insights and internship advice.

PROFESSIONAL HEADSHOTS
In September, we were able to hold a professional headshot session for our members to ensure that they have high-quality images to enhance their portfolios and LinkedIn profiles.

ASID IMPACT CONFERENCE
Members had the privilege to attend this impactful ASID Alabama conference, gaining insights from leaders in the field and networking with industry professionals across Alabama. This event was also attended by many of our Daisy Bond Student Design Awards recipients.

FRESHMAN INDX FLOWER EVENT
At the beginning of the semester, we were able to host a floral design event on Samford lawn specifically for our freshman members. This activity not only introduced them to the organization but also helped them bond with upperclassmen and society’s officers in an out-of-classroom setting. They also got the opportunity to ask questions about future studios.

At the end of November, we held a Coffee Tab at a local coffee shop to support our members as they complete semester-long projects.
